Motor Sports & Accessories: Get Out There and Have Fun

If you have decided to get into motor sports, you will want to make sure that you have all of the gear and accessories that you need. I am not some kind of expert but I do have some experience of taking part in various motor sports such as track racing in cars and high-speed sailing in a powerboat. My girlfriend introduced me to these activities and I suddenly realised what fun it was when I had a go. It didn't matter that I wasn't very good. I hope you like my blog and that it inspires you to get out there and have some fun.

The Differences in the Types of Boats You Can Rent

Jeffrey Gregory

Renting a boat for a day can give you the time on the water you want, without the cost of actually owning a boat, and then needing to maintain it, store it and transport it to a nearby lake or ocean. However, one drawback to renting a boat is that you might get a bit overwhelmed with your many options and not realise the differences in various boat styles and types of engines. Note a few differences in the types of boats you can rent, along with some advantages and limitations for each so you know which is best for your next boating excursion.

Bass boats

Bass are often found in small canals and creeks and even along beds of seaweed, so bass boats are not very powerful and are not meant for speed but are very small and lightweight. Bass boats also typically offer lots of storage for bait and elevated seats for fishing and for viewing the water around the boat. Even if you want to fish on an open lake, these boats can be the best choice, as they offer maximum comfort for fishing all day and are also easy to control, even for the novice boater.

Ski and wake boats

Ski and wake boats are meant to be fast so that you can pull a skier behind you. Wake boats are specifically designed to create a wake on either side of the boat so a skier can ride that wave and do flips or turns.

Ski and wake boats may not offer much storage space or many seats onboard, as they are meant for those who want to spend time on the water and not just on the boat. They may also be louder than other boats since they need powerful engines that generate maximum power and speed, making them a poor choice for fishing.

Party boats

Party boats are typically flat-bottomed and won't be very fast, as they're meant for enjoying the water while still in the boat and not while skiing or fishing. Never assume you can open up the engine to a party boat and achieve high speeds, as the flat bottom of these boats won't cut through the water very easily; they may even be prone to tipping upward, causing your guests to potentially fall to the back of the boat. Note, too, that you may want to consider bbq boat hire if you want to have a more enjoyable time with all your friends.
